Late this morning, I went with friends, Oscar and Judith, to the barrio Brisas de las Palmas, where they work with a foundation that helps children. We met about 6 or 7 others that also work with the children in various projects. This afternoon, about 64 children came. They were given shields cut out of thin cardboard with four things written on them that they had to respond to. They were to write something they were good at and a quality they have. They could also draw pictures and paint or color them with colored pencils. The project leaders were teaching a lesson in self esteem for the kids. I thought they did an excellent job. The kids were so well behaved and involved in their project for nearly 4 hours.
