Later, after most of the action died down, I did see one older kid being put in the back of a police van in the next block over. The large group of kids, in their school white shirts, had moved on. Many of them had white handkerchiefs or small towels over their faces, to hide their identity, I guess. When I later saw a friend of mine on the street, I told him what had happened. He said, “oh, those kids are at it again?” I guess it happens every so often.
