The fifth event I attended at the World Games in Cali was Baile Deportive, or sport dance, I suppose. Pairs of dancers competed at the Plaza de Toros. In the early hours, there were groups of couples dancing on the floor at the same time, often 6 or 7 pairs. They danced different dances, including salsa, jazz, cha cha cha, and rumba. It was fun to watch. Some of the dancers were really good and many responded enthusiastically to the loud applause from the crowd. The couple getting the most cheers and applause was the pair from Cali, Colombia. They later went on to win the gold medal.
