Eyes on the crowd
Yesterday afternoon, I walked to ciclovida on Calle 9. They close down the street for walkers, runners and bicyclists. I saw a stage with dancers performing. There were several groups dancing their salsa routines in preparation for La Feria de Cali, the week-long salsa festival in Cali. This group of girls were waiting for the music to start for their performance. One of them couldn’t resist looking up at the crowd to try to spot her parents.
Last night, it rained hard most of the night. It continued into this morning. It’s now 10 a.m. and it still hasn’t stopped. This is a little unusual. Usually, it will stop and then start again in an hour or so if it’s a rainy day. My room is dry, but the bathroom floor is wet. I have newspapers down to soak up the water. I’m waiting for the rain to stop long enough so I can go get my newspaper and coffee. I haven’t bought an umbrella yet, so I’d rather wait and not get completely soaked.
