Feria de Cali
Last Thursday was the first day of the Feria de Cali. There was a big parade with many salsa dancers. Many different salsa clubs were represented with groups of dancers. I had friends in several of the groups. I was able to get past security and into the salsódromo to take photos of my friends, Javier, and Natalia, and others in their dance group from the Cuban salsa club, Zaperoco. I wore an old Feria de Cali photo pass from 2012, wore a white cap like the other male dancers and, then, Javier, talked our way into wherever we wanted to go. We had a long wait before their group started on the parade route. They were the second to the last group. I walked along with them taking photos. This photo shows Javier and his dance partner, Natalia. It was fun, but it was a long day. I think we arrived about 2:30 p.m. with the parade starting around 5 or 5:30 p.m. Their group didn’t start until about 6:30 p.m. or later. We were finally done and back at Javier’s car about 10:30 p.m.
